The suspects, Zakaria Yamusa, also known as Vandam, and Fatao Issah, were detained on suspicion of participating in a violent robbery on February 12, 2024, according to preliminary police records. Two people, one of whom was a mobile money salesman, tragically died as a result of the incident, while seven others were injured.

The suspects are presently in prison and will appear in court to face justice for their alleged crimes, according to a police statement.
In the meantime, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police, has personally called the families of the slain and injured victims to reassure them that the situation is being thoroughly investigated.
In addition, a group of policemen led by the North-East Regional Police Commander paid the injured patients a visit at the hospital in order to support and commiserate with the relatives of the departed.
