The leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, expressed concern regarding the potential investigation of his activities by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Acknowledging his apprehension, Bishop Obinim admitted that scrutiny from Anas, particularly regarding his confessed extramarital relationships while leading his congregation, would trouble him.
Despite this, he asserted that aside from his past infidelity, there is nothing Anas could uncover to accuse him of, be it involvement in illicit activities like murder or perpetrating fake miracles.
In a recent interview, when questioned about the possibility of an investigation similar to what TB Joshua faced, Bishop Obinim stated that he would welcome it and is open to inquiries starting immediately.
He differentiated himself from TB Joshua’s situation, emphasizing that the accusations against him are not applicable to his own history, as he has never taken anyone’s life or consulted traditional spiritual practitioners.
When asked about allegations of infidelity and extramarital affairs, Bishop Obinim openly admitted to past unfaithfulness to his wife, suggesting that Anas should not focus solely on that aspect.
Amidst increased scrutiny on pastors’ activities within their ministries following a recent British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) documentary exposing sexual misconduct by the late Prophet TB Joshua, Bishop Obinim clarified that while he was not implicated in any allegations against TB Joshua, he remains uneasy about the possibility of Anas investigating his past infidelities with other women.
